NOTICE OF EXAMINATION FOR POLICE OFFICER
Notice is hereby given that the Civil Service Commission of the Borough of Clifton Heights is accepting applications for the position of police patrol officer. Applicants must first successfully pass physical fitness, written and oral examinations. The Commission will hold a physical agility test on December 18, 2025, at the Delaware County Municipal Police Academy located on the campus of Delaware County Community College, 901 Media Line Road, Marple Township PA at 9:00 am for the purpose of applicants to qualify for appointment to the rank of police officer in the Borough of Clifton Heights. Applicants who pass the physical agility test will progress to the written examination. The written examination will be administered the same day, December 18, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., also at the Delaware County Municipal Police Academy located on the campus of Delaware County Community College, 901 Media Line Road, Marple Township PA. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application; possess a high school diploma (or GED equivalent); an American citizen; a licensed motor vehicle operator in Pennsylvania; have ACT 120 certification; and move within a 20-mile radius of Borough Hall upon completing probationary period. The applicant must pass the physical agility test on the date given prior to moving to the written and oral test stages of the appointment process. The Clifton Heights Civil Service Commission will administer a written exam with a required 70% or greater result to move on to the oral exam. Only the top ten scoring applicants will participate in the oral testing process. An oral test will be administered by The Clifton Heights Borough Civil Service Commission or its designees, requiring a result of 70% or greater to continue in the appointment process. When an applicant receives a conditional offer of employment, they must undergo a psychological, physical (including drug test), polygraph and background examinations. The cost of these examinations will be borne by the Borough of Clifton Heights. Any applicant failing any one component of the examinations will be disqualified from any further consideration for employment. Applications are available at the Clifton Heights Police Department located at 30 S. Springfield Rd. in Clifton Heights Borough and may also be found online www.cliftonheightspolice.com. An application must be fully completed and delivered by the applicant in person with a government issued photo ID no later than December 15, 2025, to the Clifton Heights Police Department. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. There is no application fee.
