Police Activity weeks of 12/01/2015 – 12/28/2015

12/01/2015 – Harassment – Sgt. Chappelle

A summary charge of harassment was filed against a black male resident of Philadelphia after a minor fight with a co-worker at a local business. The fight was over work completed at the location.

12/02/2015 – DUI – Ofc. Ford

Police arrested a 22 year old white male from Clifton Heights for DUI narcotics and motor vehicle violations after investigating a running vehicle in an alley with the operator passed out behind the wheel. The operator displayed signs of intoxication and was found in possession of suspected heroin.

12/06/2015 – Public Drunkenness – Sgt. Chappelle

Police were called to the 102 trolley to remove an intoxicated female passed out in the aisle. The white female resident of Upper Darby was taken into custody, housed until sober and cited.

12/07/2015 – Assault – Ofc. Wooding

Police arrested four residents of Clifton Heights after responding to a residence on Academy Rd. for a domestic disturbance. All defendants resided at the located and entered into a mutual fight as a result of a verbal altercation.

12/09/2015 – Narcotics – Ofc. Wooding

Police arrested three white males for possession of marijuana after observing them smoking in the 400 block of S. Church St. All three showed signs of intoxication and two admitted to be in possession of more marijuana on their person.

12/11/2015 – Public Drunkenness – Ofc. Wooding

Police arrested a white female resident of Clifton Heights for public drunkenness after finding her with a bloody face walking her dog. The dog was found walking behind the female on his leash.

12/11/2015 – Burglary – Ofc. McAveney

Police arrested two white males, one from Newtown and the other from Lansdowne for burglary and related charges. An alert resident called 911 after seeing the males break into a vacant property through the basement window. Police located the males inside the residence and took them into custody.

12/15/2015 – Narcotics – Ofc. Ford

Police arrested a white male resident of Clifton Heights for possession of suspected heroin after assisting the Delaware County Sheriffs Department take him into custody for warrants.

12/19/2015 – Burglary – Sgt. Chappelle

Police arrested a 21 year old resident of Drexel Hill after he broke into a residence on E. Madison Ave. He was confronted by the homeowner and fled but was captured and held for police. The male was very intoxicated at the time of arrest.

12/20/2015 – DUI / Endangering Children – Ofc. Berry

Police arrested a black female resident of Upper Darby for DUI, Fleeing the scene and child endangerment after she was involved in a vehicle accident and attempted to flee the scene. Three children aged from 1 to 9 were in the vehicle with her at the time of the incident. The female displayed signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the accident. There were no injuries reported and the children were turned over to relatives.

12/22/2015 – Retail Theft – Sgt. McCaughan

Police arrested a female adult and juvenile residents of Upper Darby after they were observed filling a cart with store merchandise and walking out the door without paying for the items. They entered a vehicle and fled the property but were detained by police a short distance later. Store employees identified the actors and store merchandise located on the vehicle.

12/28/2015 – Retail Theft – Ofc. Berry

Police arrested a black female resident of Philadelphia after a passing officer was advised she just stole items from the K Mart. The vehicle she was in was stopped and several cases of diapers were located in the vehicle. Security footage was reviewed and showed the female enter the store, fill a cart with recovered items and walk out without paying for the items.
