Police Activity weeks of 11/01/2015 – 11/30/2015

11/05/2015 – Retail Theft – Sgt. Chappelle

Officers were flagged down by Kmart Loss Prevention describing a blue SUV leaving the store with unpaid merchandise. Officers located the vehicle and took the operator into custody. Surveillance footage showed the black female resident of Upper Darby enter the store empty handed and then push a cart full of merchandise out without paying for it. All merchandise was recovered.


11/07/2015 – UAD – Ofc. Gallo

Police responded to W. Berkley Ave. for a report of a fight out. Officers located two males from Upper Darby fighting in the street. Both were intoxicated at the time. Both males, being under 21yoa were cited for several offenses including underage drinking.


11/08/2015 – DUI – Ofc. Berry

Police responded at 3:00pm to intersection of Baltimore and Oak Aves. for a reported unconscious male behind the wheel. Upon arrival police secured the vehicle and woke the driver who was under the influence of alcohol. He told officers “I’ve been drinking, I’m not gonna waste your time.” The male was unable to stand without assistance. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI and related offenses.


11/10/2015 – Theft – Ofc. Wooding

A resident of N. Church St. reported his vehicle entered overnight and various items removed. The vehicle was reportedly unlocked at the time of the theft.


11/12/2015 – Retail Theft – Sgt. Chappelle

Police arrested two black female residents of Phila. for retail theft and related offenses after they were observed concealing merchandise in their handbags. The defendants were sisters and one was 81/2 months pregnant.


11/21/2015 – Narcotics – Ofc. Berry

Police responded to N. Sycamore Ave. for a reported suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival they located a vehicle with the operator asleep inside. Upon requesting I.D. the black male resident of Clifton Heights went into the glove compartment for papers. Officers observed suspected packets of heroin inside. The male was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics.


11/26/2015 – Narcotics – Ofc. Wooding

Police arrested a white male resident of Taylor PA for heroin possession after observing him “nodding out” in front of a business on Baltimore Ave. He was found in possession of several packets of heroin after police patted him down.


11/29/2015 – DUI – Ofc. Gallo

Police arrested a white male resident of Upper Darby after observing a traffic violation. Upon making the motor vehicle stop the operator displayed signs of intoxication and his breath tested positive for alcohol. The male was unable to perform any field sobriety tests due to the level of his intoxication.
