Police Activity weeks of 07/01/2015 – 07/31/201507/04/2015 – DUI – Ofc. BerryA black male resident of Folcroft was charged with DUI and related charges after he was observed operating a vehicle carelessly in the area of Baltimore Ave. and Springfield Rd. The male did have an odor of alcohol on his person and showed symptoms of intoxication. 07/04/2015 – Theft – Sgt MorganA vendor at the Clifton Heights 4th of July flea market reported her wallet missing for her table sometime in the morning. It was later recovered and returned to the vendor minus $500.00 cash that the wallet contained. 07/05/2015 – Assault – Ofc. WoodingA black male resident of Clifton Heights was arrested for Aggravated Assault and related charges after police confronted him during a 911 call for terroristic threats. The male, without provocation began to threaten pedestrians in the parking lot of the Clifton Heights Fire Company. When police arrived and attempted to place him into custody, he resisted and assaulted officers eventually breaking one of the officers hand. He was subdued and charged accordingly. 07/08/2015 – Burglary – Sgt. BrownA white male resident of Drexel Hill was arrested for burglary and related charges after a burglary and theft report was made by Rosati Water Ice on Madison Ave. A still photo of the male was posted on the Clifton Heights Police FB page which led to numerous tips about the male’s identity. He was subsequently arrested and admitted his role in the crime. 07/11/2015 – Burglary – Sgt. McCaughanPolice attained an arrest warrant for a white male resident of Westbrook Park for burglary and related charges after he forced entry into an ex-girlfriends residence and began a verbal confrontation with her current boyfriend. Police found a broken window with blood evidence at the scene. 07/11/2015 – Narcotics – Ofc. GalloAfter being alerted to a suspiciously occupied vehicle on W. Broadway Ave. police stopped a white male resident of West Chester operating the vehicle described pulling out of the area. The male was very nervous and an odor of marijuana was present in the vehicle. As a result of a consent search of the vehicle, marijuana as well as other narcotics were located in the vehicle. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly. 7/18/2015 – Narcotics – Ofc. BerryAs a result of a 911 call describing a hand to hand drug transaction in the unit block of E. Broadway Ave. a black male resident of Folcroft was arrested for possession. Police stopped the vehicle he was a passenger of and after lying to responding officers as to where they had just been, a consent search yielded marijuana from the passenger compartment. The passenger admitted the drugs were his. 7/18/2015 – Underage Drinking – Sgt. MorganFifty two persons from as far away as Pottstown were arrested for UAD and Trespass after police raided an underage drinking party at a vacant residence. Fifteen police cars and wagons were needed to transport the defendants to the police station, where they were later turned over to parents. 7/20/2015 – Theft from Vehicle – CHPDApproximately a dozen residents reported their vehicles entered and miscellaneous items taken over the next several days. In all cases the vehicles were parked overnight and unsecured. 7/21/2015 – DUI – Ofc. GalloDUI and related charges were lodged against a white male resident of Clifton Heights after he was involved in an accident and attempted to flee the scene. The incident was observed by another resident who notified police and pointed out the residence the male fled into. 7/22/2015 – Narcotics – Ofc. BerryCharges were filed against a white female resident of Clifton Heights after she was found unconscious by her child. Police responded and determined she was in an opioid overdose. Empty suspected Heroin bags as well as a loaded needle was recovered at the scene. 07/24/2015 – Narcotics – Sgt. MccaughanPolice arrested a white male resident of Clifton Heights for Heroin possession and related charges after he was taken into custody for outstanding warrants. During a search incident to arrest, the narcotics were recovered. |
