Police Activity weeks of 06/31/2014 through 08/31/2014
07/03/2014 – UAD – Ofc. Berry
While on routine patrol officers stopped three suspicious males on the 7-11 parking lot after midnight. All three were underage and under the influence of alcohol. All three were cited for curfew and UAD.
07/03/2014 – UAD – Sgt. Martin
While investigating another incident, officers came upon a group of people. While interviewing one of them, he became belligerent and displayed signs of intoxication. He was arrested for UAD.
07/05/2014 – Assault – Sgt. Chappelle
A white male resident of Clifton Heights was arrested after his girlfriend reported to police she was assault by him and he fled the residence. The victim displayed injuries consistent with her account including swelling and bleeding from the face.
07/05/2014 – Retail Theft – Sgt. Morgan
A black female resident of Clifton Heights was arrested for shoplifting after employees of the Rite Aid Pharmacy observed her conceal merchandise and leave the store without paying. She was processed, cited, and released.
07/09/2014 – Retail Theft – Sgt. Morgan
A white female resident of Clifton Heights was arrested after employees of Rite Aid Pharmacy observed her conceal merchandise and leave the store without paying for it. She was processed and charges with theft.
07/12/2014 – DUI – Sgt. McCaughan
A white male resident of Glenolden was arrested for DUI and related charges after being involved in a one-vehicle accident. The male displayed oblivious signs of intoxication and was taken into custody at the scene.
08/02/2014 – Narcotics – Ofc. Wooding
Two white male residents of Upper Darby were arrested for possession and intent to deliver after police surveyed the Rite Aid parking lot for drug use. Officers observed a hand-to-hand transaction of prescription narcotics and arrested both males.
08/09/2014 – DUI – Ofc. Gallo
A white male resident of Upper Darby was arrested for DUI and related charges after observed striking another vehicle and driving away. Upon stopping the striking vehicle signs of intoxication were oblivious on the operator. He was arrested without incident.
08/10/2014 – DUI – Sgt. McCaughan
While police investigated a one-vehicle accident, the black male operator of the vehicle, from Philadelphia was arrested and charges with DUI and related offenses. He displayed oblivious signs of intoxication during the crash investigation.
08/14/2014 – Theft – Ofc. Berry
Several parked vehicles were entered overnight and items taken in the 3rd ward. Stolen items included cash, electronics and personal belongings. In all the cases, the vehicles were left unlocked.
08/23/2014 – UAD – Sgt. Morgan
Numerous underage persons were arrested after police responded to a loud house party. All were observed to either be in possession or under the influence of alcohol. The adult resident at the location was arrested for providing the alcohol.
08/27/2014 – Narcotics – Ofc. Berry
A white male resident from Drexel Hill was arrested for narcotics violations after the vehicle he was a passenger in was stopped for a traffic violation. Officers detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana in the vehicle. After an investigation the front passenger admitted to ownership of a bag of marijuana located in the door’s map pocket.
08/31/2014 – DUI – Ofc. Burke
Police arrested a white male resident of Springfield Twp. After observing him driving erratically on Baltimore Ave. The male displayed oblivious signs of intoxication and was charged with DUI and related offenses.
