Police Activity week of 06/25/2013 through 07/21/2013

06/27/2013 – Under age Drinking – Ofc. Gallo

While on patrol at about 01:00 Ofc. Gallo noticed two suspicious males near a closed business. When stopping them to investigate, he noted both appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation lead Ofc. Gallo to learn both were under 21 years of age. Both were arrested for UAD.

06/28/2013 – Stolen motorcycle – Ofc. Gallo

A resident of the 200 block of E. Baltimore Ave reported his 2007 Suzuki GSXR stolen from in front of his residence. The victim reported the steering wheel to be locked and a chain through the rear wheel at the time of the theft.

06/29/2013 – Burglary – Ofc. McCaughan

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Broadway Ave. for a reported burglary interrupted. The victim reported finding a black female in her residence that she knew from the block. When the victim called 911 the actor fled. Police noticed a window on the second floor wiped clean, which was also in the room where the actor had been observed. A warrant for burglary has been issued for the female observed in the residence.

06/29/2013 – Burglary – Sgt. Rich

Police investigated a reported burglary in the unit block of Walnut St. The victim reported a lap top computer stolen from under her bed, which was later, located at a pawnshop in Upper Darby. Two white males were arrested after the investigation, for burglary and related charges.

07/08/2013 – Narcotics – Sgt. Chappelle

Police stopped and investigated two suspicious persons near a closed business at about 02:30. After determining both were juveniles, they were taken into custody for curfew violations. One of the actors did have in their possession several bags of suspected narcotics. Narcotics violations were filed on this person in juvenile court.

07/10/2013 – Theft from vehicle – Sgt. Rich

A victim reported that between 21:00 and 05:30 someone broke the locks on his work van parked in the 300 block of E. Madison Ave. Once inside the actors took an Echo chain saw and a Huskie chop saw.

07/12/2013 – Robbery – Sgt. Chappelle

Two victims reported being in the unit block of Jefferson St. about 00:00 when three black males approached them. The victims said the males threatened them and that one of the males stated he had a gun. The actors took the victim’s cell phone and fled.

Three males fitting the description were stopped shortly after the incident. One did have the victim’s property in his possession. The victim’s identified those males stopped as the actors who had robbed them. All three were arrested and detained at the juvenile detention center pending charges.

07/16/2013 – Burglary – Sgt. Morgan

Police responded to a burglar alarm in the unit block of W. Madison Ave. Upon their arrival they noted that entry was made into the building. A police K9 was used to search the building, which was found to be vacant. After a walk through with the owner, nothing was reported missing but it was believed that the actors were looking for cash and PA state inspection stickers.

07/18/2013 – Assault – Sgt. Brown

Assault and related charges were filed against a black male resident of Sharon Hill after he assaulted a school employee of a local day care center. The victim sustained lacerations and contusions as a result of the assault and was treated and released from a local hospital.

07/19/2013 – Theft from Vehicle – Sgt. Chappelle

A local business owner in the unit block of E. Baltimore Ave. reported that sometime overnight actors forced open his work truck and took a Bosch hammer drill.

07/20/2013 – Public Drunkenness – Ofc. Wooding

While on bike patrol Ofc. Wooding was flagged down by a resident reporting an intoxicated male in the area. Police located a white male resident of Clifton Heights in an intoxicated state in public. He was arrested and charged.

07/20/2013 – DUI – Ofc. Furman

While on routine patrol Ofc. Furman noticed a vehicle operating on the highway with two flat tires. Upon stopping the vehicle he noticed the white female resident of Clifton Heights displaying signs of intoxication. After an investigation, the female submitted two vials of blood of blood to determine her blood alcohol or narcotic content.

07/21/2013 – Robbery – Ofc. Caputo

Police responded to the SEPTA trolley station at Baltimore and Glenwood Aves. for a reported robbery that just occurred. Two juvenile females reported waiting for a friend when approached by a black male who engaged them in conversation. When doing so the male ripped wristlet purses from both of the females and fled.

The black male resident from Philadelphia was arrested a short time later and subsequently identified by the victims.
