Police Activity week of 04/23/2012 through 05/06/2012

04/23/2012 – Burglary – Sgt. Chappelle

An owner of a local business reported an overnight burglary at his establishment. The actor forces entry and took money from the cash till. A white male from Aldan who was a former employee of the victim, was identified as a suspect. After being interviewed by Sgt. Chappelle, he admitted to taking the money to pay bills. He was arrested and charges with Burglary and related crimes.

04/25/2012 – Public Drunkenness – Ofc. Press

After being dispatched to the unit block of W. Madison Ave. for a reported intoxicated male, police arrested a white male from Clifton Heights for Public Drunkenness. The male was unable to walk or stand unassisted.

04/26/2012 – Criminal Mischief – Ofc. McCaughan

After being dispatched to the 500 block of E. Baltimore Ave. for a reported criminal mischief to building, police arrested a white male from Drexel Hill who broke a window of a store front. The act arose from an argument with an employee over lottery tickets.

04/28/2012 – DUI – Ofc. Gallo

After observing a motor vehicle violation, Officer Gallo stopped a white male from Collingdale operating grey sedan. During the stop the operator was observed to be under the influence of alcohol and admitted to drinking alcohol prior to operating the motor vehicle. As a result of these observations and statements the male was arrested for DUI and related offenses.

04/30/2012 – Retail Theft – Ofc. MCcaughan

Kmart loss prevention reported a black male exited the store with a shopping cart full of merchandise. A witness followed the actor into Philadelphia but lost sight of him. Kmart personnel are investigating the amount of merchandise lost.

05/04/2012 – Retail Theft – Ofc. Press

A black male resident of Philadelphia was arrested for retail theft and related charges after Loss Prevention personnel observed him removing merchandise from its package and concealing on his person. The male exited the store without paying for the items.

05/04/2012 – Rape – Sgt. Brown

A white male resident from Clifton Heights was arrested for rape and related charges after a nearly yearlong investigation in to the case. DNA was extracted from evidence collected at the crime scene and the results confirmed the defendant’s identity. The victim reported the defendant making advanced towards her which she denied prior to the assault.

05/06/2012 – Disorderly Conduct – Ofc. Hahn

After responding to the unit block of W. Baltimore Ave. in Clifton heights for a reported fight, police arrested two white females and one white male for disorderly conduct. Fights between the three cause residents concern and prompted the 911 call.

05/06/2012 – Theft of service – Ofc. Press

Twelve black males and females were reported to have been served about $105.00 of food at a local restaurant on W. Baltimore Ave. After the check was served, the actors fled the restaurant without paying for their bill. They were seen leaving the restaurant in a dark colored SUV but their direction of travel was not seen.

05/06/2012 – Theft from vehicle – Ofc Press

A total the three vehicles were entered in the third ward overnight and items removed. In all instances the vehicles were left unlocked. Items taken ranged from small electronics to loose change.

05/06/2012 – Stolen vehicle – Sgt. Rich

A victim on Chester Ave reported their 2003 Honda Civic stolen between 8:00 am and 11:00. The vehicle was reported locked, in their driveway and the resident was home at the time of the theft. There was no indication of forced entry to take the vehicle at the time of the report.
