Police Activity week of 03/06/12 through 03/18/12

03/06/2012 – Bicycle theft – Ofc. McCaughan

A resident of the 100 block of E. Madison Ave. reported that sometime overnight two bikes were stolen from her porch. One was a red and white 20″ boys Bike and the other a 20″ purple and white girls bike. Both were valued at $120.00 each.


03/11/2012 – Burglary – Sgt. Rich

A resident of the 300 block of E. Baltimore Ave. reported a burglary at her apartment she believed might have occurred since the prior Friday. Reported taken was loose coins and electronics.


03/12/2012 – Narcotics – Ofc Caputo

A resident in the 100 block of E. Washington Ave. reported receiving a package in the mail from an unknown sender in California. When he opened it he found rotten oranges and a small amount of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The case was turned over to US Postal Inspection Service.


03/12/2012 – Warrant – Sgt. Brown

After investigating a report of a suspicious subject in the rear of businesses in the 600 block of E. Baltimore Ave. police located a white male resident of Clifton Heights sleeping in the grass. Upon checking his identity it was learned he was wanted out of Philadelphia for failure to appear in court. He was turned over to the Philadelphia Warrant Unit.


03/12/2012 – Theft – Ofc. Caputo

A resident of an apartment complex in the 300 block of E. Baltimore Ave. reported his mountain bike stolen from the hallway of his unit. It was described as a blue Taulas 3500 valued at $400.00.


03/14/2012 – Narcotics – Ofc. McCaughan

After responding to a medical call of a drug overdose, officers located drug paraphernalia in the residence of a white male from the unit block of Marple Ave. The male had ingested heroin prior to police arrival. As a result of the items seized, the male was charged with drug offenses.
