Police Activity week of 01/23/2012 through 01/29/2012

01/23/2012 – Theft – Ofc. Press

A resident of N. Oak Ave. reported their Playstation missing from the residence. She stated that her older son admitted to selling it without permission. After investigation, Ofc. Press charged the relative with theft and related offenses.

01/24/2012 – Suspicious activity Ofc. McCaughan

A resident reported hearing shots fired in the area of her residence. She directed police to the Darby Creek in the rear of her residence. Officers from Clifton Heights and Lansdowne Police Departments checked the area and could not locate any activity.

01/27/2012 – Fight – Sgt. Chappelle

The manager of a bar located on E. Broadway Ave. reported patrons in the bar trying to pick a fight with staff. A vehicle described by the staff was stopped a short distance away. The occupants were identified as the ones causing a disturbance. The bar manager refused to file charges.

01/28/2012 – Theft – Sgt. Martin

A resident in the 200 block of Crestwood Rd. reported placing a Nortic Track in the rear of the residence while cleaning the basement. Upon going to retrieve it they found it was missing. A neighbor reported white van pulled up and took it. There was no further description of the actor of vehicle.

01/29/2012 – DUI – Ofc. Gallo

After observing a traffic violation Officer Gallo stopped a black male from Collingdale for the violation. Officer Gallo detected the operator appeared to be under the influence of alcohol to an extent that it was unsafe for him to operate a motor vehicle. There was also open containers of alcohol in the vehicle and the operator’s license was suspended.
The male was arrested for DUI and related offenses.

1/29/2012 – Under Age Drinking Ofc. Wooding

After responding to a report of a disorderly group, officers located two male juveniles in the area of W. Wyncliffe Ave. The males appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and tested positive for it. Bother were cited for UAD and released to guardians.
