Police Activity week of 10/30/2011 through 11/06/2011

10/30/2011 – Assault – Officer Morgan

Police responded to a bar in the unit block of E. Broadway Ave for a reported assault. Upon arrival they found a female patron who had been struck in the face by a bottle. The victim did require medical treatment.


10/31/2011 – Theft from vehicle – Officer Gallo

A victim in the 200 block of W. Baltimore Ave. reported his vehicle was entered and money, credit cards and medication was removed. The credit cards were used in several local businesses before the victim knew they were missing. Police arrested a white male from Swathmore PA for the theft after he was interviewed and admitted to the theft and credit card use.


11/02/2011 – Burglary – Officer Caputo

A resident of the 100 block of W. Madison Ave reported that between 07:30 and 15:00 someone entered her residence by breaking the basement window. She stated that several pieces of jewelry were missing as a result.


11/04/2011 – Armed Robbery – Sgt. Chapplle

Officers responded to the 200 block of W. Baltimore Ave. for a reported armed robbery. The business owner stated that a male in his teens or early twenties wearing a gray hoodie and his face covered entered the store and pointed a knife at the victim. The actor, believed to be a white male, ordered the victim to give him all the money. An undetermined amount of cash was given to the actor before he fled on foot from the business.


11/04/2011 – Burglary – Sgt. Martin

Two residences in the unit block of Rockbourne Rd. were reported burglarized by the owners. Entry to the residences was apparently made through open windows. Both owners reported thefts as a result.


11/05/2011 – DUI – Officer Gallo

As a result of observing a traffic violation a white female who resides in Upper Darby was arrested for DUI and related charges. The operator was observed to be intoxicated and a PBT Resulted in the presence of alcohol in her system.


11/06/2011 – Burglary – Sgt. Martin

A resident of the unit block of Walnut St. reported a burglary and theft of jewelry from the residence. Upon investigation a white male that resides in Newtown Square was arrested. He was a friend of the family and had access to the residence.


11/06/2011 – Strong-arm Robbery – Sgt. Martin

A female pedestrian reported walking in the unit block of N. Glenwood Ave when a white male in his twenties bumped into her and took the cell phone she was talking on. He reported fled onto Harrison Ave. The male was wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and sneakers. A witness believed him to be in his twenties.
