Police Activity week of 10/03/2011 through 10/09/2011

10/04/2011 – Robbery – Sgt. Rich / Ofc. Mc Caughn

A resident of the Unit block of S. Glenwood Ave reported a home invasion/robbery in the early morning hours. Responding officers located two black females fitting the description given by the victim. One was a resident of Darby and the other from Philadelphia. Items reported taken were found on their person as well as drug paraphernalia.
The victim reported the females knocked on her door and forced their way in when she answered. The victim was assaulted as well as her husband, when one of the females threatened him with a knife.


10/04/2011 – Fraud/Identity Theft – Ofc. Press

A resident of the unit block of Edgemont Ave. reported a fraudulent credit account opened in his name. He believed it was a result of losing his PA drivers license recently.


10/06/2011 – Missing/Stolen Firearm – Ofc. Caputo

A resident of the 100 block of W. Broadway Ave. reported his Ruger 38 special revolver missing. He stated that he first noticed it missing in September. The caller was not sure how the firearm went missing.


10/07/2011 – Criminal Mischief – Ofc. Wooding

A resident of the 500 block of Chester Ave reported the rear window of her vehicle smashed out. The vehicle and contents were intact.


10/07/2011 – Warrants – Ofc. McCaughan/Ofc. Gallo

A former resident of Clifton Heights was taken into custody at the Athletic Field without incident. The white female in her 20’s was known to have active probation warrants on her. She was observed in a crowd attending a sporting event when arrested.


10/07/2011 – Warrants – Ofc. McCaughan

While on patron Officer McCaughan observed a white male juvenile resident of Clifton Heights who did have an active warrant for Aggravated Assault walking on S. Springfield Rd. The male was arrested without incident and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center pending a hearing.


10/08/2011 – Theft from building – Sgt. Martin/Ofc. Press

A resident of the unit block of S. Sycamore Ave reported a theft from his garage. Included in the missing items were lawn care equipment, chain saws, a roll of copper and aluminum plank.


10/08/2011 – Narcotics – Sgt. Martin/Ofc. Press

While responding to a medical emergency in the 200 block of S. Springfield Rd. officers found the subject under the influence of heroin and located a needle on the scene. The 20 year old white male, Havertown resident was charged accordingly.


10/09/2011 – Theft from vehicle – Ofc. Wooding

A shopper at Kmart reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle parked on the K Mart lot and took her purse. She reported a credit card and ID missing as a result.
