3/07/2011 – Officer Robert McCaughan

Retail Theft Arrest
Police were dispatched to K-Mart where Loss Prevention had detained a defendant for the attempted theft of $54.51 in merchandise. Arrested for Retail Theft was a 51 year old male resident of Drexel Hill. A Criminal Complaint was issued as the defendant had a prior arrest and conviction on Retail Theft Charges.


3/11/2011 – Officer Christian Caputo

Driving Under the Influence Arrest
On Friday, 3/11/2011 Clifton Heights Police investigated a disabled vehicle on the unit block of S. Springfield Rd. On arrival officers observed a vehicle with heavy front end damage, deployed air bags and flat tires operated by a female driver. The operator admitted to hitting median at the Springfield Mall and operating her vehicle to where it became disabled. After investigation, the operator was arrested on DUI charges after having blood withdrawn for alcohol testing. Arrested was a 32 year old female resident of Clifton Heights on DUI and related charges.


3/12/2011 – Sergeant Francis Rich

Assault Arrest – Domestic Related
On March 12, 2011 Clifton Heights Police investigated a reported domestic that occurred on the unit block of N. Penn Street. Investigation resulted in the arrest of a 49 year old male resident of Clifton Heights on Simple Assault and related charges.

Animal Complaints/Code Violations
As a result of a reported fight between three Pit Bulls, on March 11, 2011, at a residence on Mill Street, Clifton Heights Police requested the assistance of Animal Control who after their investigation confiscated the three dogs from this residence. Further investigation required the dispatch of Code Enforcement officials due to the extreme and unsafe living conditions at the residence. As a result of their investigation, it was learned no Use and Occupancy had ever been issued to the rental property and conditions inside were unsafe for human habitation. The property inside was removed and a board up service called in to board this property up until the owner was compliant. Charges are pending.


03/13/2011 – Officer James Press

Disorderly Conduct Arrests
Clifton Heights Police were dispatched to the IHOP on Baltimore Ave for a reported fight in progress. On arrival two female patrons were engaged in a verbal and physical fight. Arrested on disorderly conduct charges was a 15 year old female resident of Darby Borough and an 18 year old female resident of Lansdowne Borough. Both were issued summary citations.
