Police Activity week of 9-13-2010 through 9-19-2010
8/30/2010 – Officer Christian Caputo
Clifton Heights Police responded to a reported large fight in progress in the area of Baltimore and Diamond Street. On arrival investigating officers were met by a 26 year old victim who had visible cuts to the neck and shoulder area that the victim reported occurred when struck by a beer bottle thrown by another male.
A 19 year old suspect was identified and attempted to flee on foot and was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit after found hiding in the rear yard of a home on N. Springfield Rd. This 19 year old defendant and resident of Springfield Township were returned to the scene where he was identified by witnesses. The defendant was charged, by Officer Christian Caputo, with Simple Assault and related criminal charges.

Warrant Arrest – Assist other agency
On 9/16/2010 Clifton Heights Police were dispatched to meet the Delaware County Sherriff’s Department for a reported wanted subject at that location wanted on a Delaware County Warrant. A check of the unsecured property resulted in finding the a 36 year old resident of Clifton Heights hiding inside a locked bedroom on the second floor of a residence located on the 300 block of E. Berkley Avenue. This defendant was turned over to Sherriff’s Deputies and transported to Delaware County Prison.
9/17/2010 – Officer Thomas Gallo
Public Drunkenness Arrest
While on patrol, Clifton Heights Police Officer Thomas Gallo observed a male walking in the middle of the unit block of N. Springfield Road screaming and yelling at passing traffic in the pouring rain. The subject was not wearing shoes and had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Questioning of the suspect determined him under the extreme effects of alcohol. The defendant who is a 41 year old resident of Wynmoor, Pa.,was arrested on a summary Public Drunkenness citation and housed till sober and released.
9/17/2010 -Officer Robert McCaughan
On patrol, Officer Robert McCaughan observed a 22 year old female resident of Clifton Heights, known by Officer McCaughan to have an active probation violation warrant against her by Delaware County. On seeing the police car, the defendant fled on foot into a wooded area bordering the SEPTA trolley tracks near Glenwood and Baltimore Ave. A search of the woods located the defendant who was confirmed as wanted by Delaware County Sherriff’s department.
9/17/2010 – Officer Christopher Kammerer
Underage Drinking Arrest
On patrol Officer Christopher Kammerer observed an underage female stumbling in the middle of W. Berkley Ave. Investigation determined the 14 year old female defendant under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of .114%. The female was issued a summary citation and released to her parents.

Disorderly Conduct and Underage Drinking Arrest
Clifton Heights Police were dispatched to the unit block of N. Glenwood Avenue to investigate a reported family domestic. On arrival police encountered an intoxicated 16 year old resident of Clifton Heights who was arrested after striking her mother and a police officer. Summary citations for Disorderly Conduct and Underage Drinking were issued to the defendant.
