Police activity 8-9-2010 through 8-15-2010

8/10/2010 – Officer Tom Gallo

Domestic Related Assault Arrest
On Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 3:52AM, Clifton Heights Police were dispatched to the unit block of E. Madison Avenue for a reported domestic dispute. On arrival, officer’s observed a 22 year old female victim with blood running down the side of her face from a cut on her ear. Injuries were consistent with the victim’s statement of punched on the side of her head by a 24 year old male defendant of Philadelphia. The victim reported the defendant fled prior to police arrival.

A search by on duty officers resulted in Sergeant Francis Rich observing a subject matching the defendant’s description who on seeing the police vehicle fled on foot towards Madison and Penn Streets. A pursuit by Sgt. Rich and Officer Gallo resulted in locating the defendant hiding behind a residence on the 200 block of Holly Street. During the attempt to place the defendant under arrest, the defendant resisted and an assisting officer received minor injuries to his knee.

The defendant was charged with Simple Assault, Aggravated Assault and associated charges.

8/10/2010 – Officer John Martin

Public Drunkenness Arrest
Clifton Heights Police were dispatched to the McDonalds on Baltimore Avenue for a reported extremely intoxicated male outside. Arriving officers located a 56 year old male resident of Clifton Heights under the extreme effects of alcohol to a degree that rendered him a danger to himself and others. The defendant was arrested on a Public Drunkenness charge and housed overnight.

8/13/2010 -Officer Robert McCaughan

Marijuana Arrests
While on routine patrol, Officer Robert McCaughan observed two males in the alley of Willowbrook Avenue at 1:00AM in the morning. Knowing both males did not reside on this street, an investigatory stop was made resulting in the recovery of a small amount of Marijuana. Both appeared under the influence of Marijuana. Arrested were 20 and 16 year old residents of Clifton Heights.

8/14/2010 – Officer Thomas Gallo / Sergeant Francis Rich

Public Drunkenness Arrest
On August 14, 2010 police were dispatched to the 200 block of Woodbridge Rd. for a reported fight in progress. On arrival a 25 year old male resident of Newtown Square refused officer’s orders to disperse and was arrested and cited for Public Drunkenness.

8/15/2010 – Officer Thomas Gallo

Disorderly Conduct Arrests
As a result of being dispatched to the 100 block of Christian Street for a noise complaint, Officer Thomas Gallo observed two men fist fighting in the street. Arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkenness was two male residents of Clifton Heights.

8/15/2010 – Officer Steven Corsi / Sergeant John Martin

Warrant Arrest
On August 15, 2010 police received a call and responded to the 500 block of E. Baltimore Avenue for a person possibly wanted by Upper Darby police on an outstanding warrant. This person was detained during which investigating officer’s leaned that no warrant existed for this person.

Further investigation located one of the two persons reporting this call nearby. A check through the 911 center learned that this caller was wanted on an active Bench Warrant through Delaware County on a Probation Violation. This 22 year old male resident of Drexel Hill was arrested on the outstanding warrant.

8/15/2010 – Officer Thomas Gallo

Driving Under the Influence Arrest
Clifton Heights police received a report of a possible intoxicated driver, in a brown colored Oldsmobile, last seen on Springfield Rd towards Baltimore Avenue. Officer Thomas Gall observed a car matching this description being operated in a reckless manner almost causing an accident at Baltimore Ave. After observing several additional violations during attempts to stop the vehicle, the defendant, who is a 43 year old resident of Folsom, was arrested on Driving under the Influence of Alcohol charges.
