4/19/2010 – Sgt. Francis Rich

Domestic Assault Arrest

On April 19, 2010, Clifton Heights Police were dispatched to the 200 block of S. Springfield Road for a domestic fight in progress. On police arrival, responding officers observed a physical altercation in progress between a male and female. As a result of investigation, observations, and on-scene evidence, an 18 year old female from Collingdale was arrested and charged with Simple Assault and related charges.


4/20/2010 – Officer James Press

Suspicious circumstances/Child Endangering Arrest

On April 12, 2010, Clifton Heights Police were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Baltimore Ave where they were met by two adult probation officers. They reported while driving on W. Baltimore Ave they observed a small child in a diaper walking down a grassy hill towards Baltimore Ave while unattended. Arriving officers attempted to locate a parent or guardian without success. As a result of investigation, it was learned that the father left his 3 year old child without supervision for a period of almost 20 minutes during which the child exited her residence. Officer James Press conducted the police investigation and has charged the father with Child Endangerment.


4/23/2010 – Officer Robert McCaughan

Retail Theft Arrests

On 4/23/2010 Clifton Heights Police were dispatched to the Clifton Heights K-Mart for a report of three juveniles in custody for Retail Theft. Investigating Officer Robert McCaughan learned the three juveniles were observed concealing merchandise totaling $329.26 and pass the front registers without paying. A 15 year old juvenile of Lansdowne, a 14 year old juvenile of Broomall, and a 15 year old juvenile from Drexel Hill were all charged with Summary Retail Theft and issued citations.


4/24/2010 – Officer Robert McCaughan

Hit & Run/DUI Arrest

On 4/24/2010, Clifton Heights Police responded to a reported hit and accident that occurred at the McDonalds on W. Baltimore Avenue. After broadcasting the hit and run vehicle information on police radio, an off-duty police officer notified police radio of a matching occupied vehicle on Bishop Avenue in Upper Darby. An investigation conducted by Officer Robert McCaughan determined the vehicle to be the Hit and Run vehicle. The driver was awakened and was arrested and charged with Driving under the Influence and Hit and Run charges. Additional charges of (Act 64) drug possession may be filed after lab analysis testing of suspected drug paraphernalia and residue.


4/24/2010 – Office Robert McCaughan

Drug Arrests/Juvenile Petition
On April 24, 2010 Clifton Heights Police Officer Robert McCaughan observed suspicious activity on Maple Terrace. As a result of surveillance, Officer McCaughan observed suspicious activity consistent with a possible drug buy. As a result of his intervention, Officer McCaughan recovered two bags of suspected Marijuana from inside the vehicle. The driver, a 17 year old resident of Folcroft, was detained. A juvenile petition will be filed with Juvenile Court on Drug Possession charges.


4/25/2010 – Office James Press

Domestic Assault Arrest
On April 25, 2010 Clifton Heights Police Officer James Press responded to and investigated a reported domestic assault that occurred on the unit block of W. Baltimore Avenue. As a result of his investigation, Officer James Press arrested a 41 year old male defendant on Simple Assault charges after being accused and admitting to striking his estranged wife in the face with a set of keys.
